Biography

Emile is born on the 22nd of July, 1977 in Sittard. He received his first musical education at the age of 7 at the Kreato School of Music in Thorn. Here he received trumpet lessons from Jan Boon. Later he had trumpet lessons with Bart Noorman in Amsterdam.

After finishing VWO (high school) in 1995, Emile studied Technical Physics from 1995 to 1999 at the Eindhoven University of Technology. During this study, he finished the preliminary teachers-study and he worked with Studium Generale at an exhibibition about gravity. This has led to the publication of his book "Onder de Indruk van Massa".

Emile studied modern trumpet at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Frits Damrow. In 2006 he received his Bachelors degree from this Conservatory. During his study, he followed complementary lessons and masterclasses with Bo Nilsson, Wolfgang Guggenberger and Klaus Schuhwerk. At the moment Emile pursues a masters degree in baroque trumpet with Friedemann Immer at the Amsterdam Conservatory and also studies natural trumpet with Jean-François Madeuf at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basle (Switzerland).
Emile played on both regular and freelance basis with several orchestras, like the National Youth Orchestra, the Amsterdam Bach Consort, Capella Horna, Colla Voce, the Symphony Orchestra of the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Sweelinck Baroque Orchestra.

He works as a brass teacher at the Heuvelrug Music School in Doorn, the Amsterdam South-East Music School, Foundation "Leerorkest" in Amsterdam and at several wind-bands.
